Whispering Pines Dr. (WPD) will generally be closed on 9/24 and 9/25/19 from 7:30am – 6:00pm. The safe bet is to just plan to be home or away on the dates and hours mentioned. Keep in mind that even if you are able to leave, you may be delayed in returning.
Below are ESTIMATED CLOSURE details to help in your planning. These are merely WPCA’s estimates and will certainly change day by day. Check back frequently for latest estimate.
9/19/19 UPDATE: I have removed the “Milling” days (9/19 & 9/20) as they have been maintaining traffic very well and it appears that the Milling on WPD will be done today around 5-6pm – a day ahead of schedule. This early completion of milling, won’t have any impact on the Paving time estimates on the 26th, 27th and 28th. Again these are merely WPCA’S estimates.
9/21/19 UPDATE: Allied is now 2 full days ahead of schedule. New estimates below assumes no rain or breakdowns through completion.
9/23/19 UPDATE: keep in mind that about 1 hour before each of these times, the roadway will be sprayed with a sticky black liquid that will stick to your tires and pick up stones. The flag people will allow CARS to pass soon after the asphalt is rolled on the 1st day (monday), but on Tuesday, they will hold you back for another 1.5hrs for curing. Note that there may be intermittent traffic flow allowed during parts of the closure, but very unpredictable due to paving equipment and truck movement.
9/24/19 Update: WPD should be open all day Wednesday, 9/26. GFL will try to pick up trash on all of WPCA roads (Meadowcrest, Tree Top, WPD, RGD, Fairway).
9/26/19 Update: The WPD/RGD intersection will be closed from ~10:30am – 12:00pm. Today, there will be a lot of traffic control to try to keep some flow of traffic as much as possible.
9/29/19 – 12:30 Update: The Main Entrance is still closed, but they still have one lane traffic across the WPD/RGD intersection. And they have just now opened WPD from RGD all the way to Signature/Fairway. So, the only closure left is the Main Entrance..
